Only in Shelbyville...

While reading The Shelbyville News, I came across a few police reports that made me question the town I grew up in and so loved. I'm sure the police do a lot to stop actual crime from happening and I'm positive the tax payers aren't wasting their money, but come on...

1:14 a.m., Kroger's, 1601 E. Michigan Road - A man opened a box of doughnuts, ate one and was going to leave without paying until confronted. The man told the officer he "wanted to try one before he bought them." The officer advised him that was not how it works. He paid for the doughnuts and was warned not to come back.

8 p.m., GasAmerica, 1424 block of Harrison Street - A man reported that a customer had came in and presented a counterfeit half dollar.

6:08 a.m., 1000 block of Spring Way Drive - A man found a white substance all over his black truck.

10:14 a.m., 100 block of Colescott Street - A woman reported the theft of a Harley-Davidson sweatshirt

8:51 a.m., 800 block of Dagley Court - A man was accused by a neighbor of urinating between the trash bins. He denied it.

7:12 a.m., Indiana Live! Casino, 4196 N. 200W - A man reported that on Sunday morning he rode to the casino with a man he had just met at Lucky's bar in the man's blue Euro, and they were gambling next to each other when he said he "hit it big" and the stranger leaned over, hit the "cash-out" button, grabbed the ticket and ran away. The man reporting the incident said it happened so fast that he didn't even see how much he had won, but he estimated it was "in the thousands."
